3 Homemade Cleaners You Should Make Yourself

It’s always good to stay on the safe side and keep essential cleaning products at home for emergencies. However, if you’re ever out of your favorite cleaning products, there’s no need to run to the convenience or grocery store. Some of the items might just be in your kitchen cupboard (e.g. baking soda, vinegar and others) and they are not only effective, but also inexpensive.

Below are 3 homemade cleaners you can make yourself, try it out!

All-purpose Cleaner
In this case, all you need is baking soda to clean appliances, kitchen counters and the inside of your fridge. Baking soda can be used to shine and clean stainless steel sinks and makes a great deodorizer. Just add 4 tablespoons of baking soda and some warm water pour the solution on a clean wipe or sponge. Voila, your homemade cleaning solution is ready!

Glass Cleaner
The next time you need to clean your windows, use this homemade cleaner! Just add 2 cups of water, ¼ cup rubbing alcohol with 70% concentration, ½ cup white or cider vinegar and 1 to 2 drops of essential oil of your preference (optional). Once these ingredients are combined and the solution is ready, pour the solution in a spray bottle. Then spray the solution on a soft cloth or paper towel and then on the windows and there you go, a perfect window cleaning solution. Note: Make sure you don’t clean your windows on a very hot sunny day since the solution might dry very quickly and leave streak marks on the windows.

Clothing Stain Remover
This is the perfect solution to wash badly stained garments. In this case, add 1 cup of powdered dishwasher detergent and 1 cup of regular liquid chlorine bleach into a stainless steel, enamel or plastic bowl (no aluminum) filled with 1 gallon of hot water. Then soak the garment into the solution for around 15 to 20 minutes. If the stain hasn’t been removed, let the garment soak for a little longer and then wash it with clean water.

It’s always good to have these basic ingredients in your kitchen cupboard incase of any emergencies. These homemade cleaners are not only effective but also convenient and inexpensive.
